MBCA ALL-DISTRICT BASKETBALL SELECTION PROCESS
MBCA ALL-DISTRICT NOMINATION PROCESS
As of 2022-23, in order for a player to receive All-District and All-State Basketball honors, the school’s head coach MUST be a paid MBCA member for that school year.
- If a coach is not a paid member, their players will be removed from the All-District ballot and the coach’s ballot will be removed as well.
- MBCA membership is year-to-year and must be renewed yearly.
- If the head coach registered and paid for the MBCA Clinic in the Fall, their membership is included with the MBCA Clinic registration.
All-District Nominations
- Coaches may nominate up to 5 of their own players for MBCA All-District honors.
- Correct spelling and information is the responsibility of the head coach.
- Head coaches will receive a Google Form via email from the MBCA that they will use to nominate their players.
- All-District Nominations and Voting is not held on-site or in-person anymore.

MBCA ALL-DISTRICT VOTING PROCESS
MBCA All-District is voted on by member coaches within the district. All-District is not an all-district tournament team; it reflects the entire regular season. The top 10 players from each district receive All-District honors (no first or second teams or honorable mention).
Ten players receive these honors unless:
- There is a tie for 10th place (no tiebreakers for 10th place; all players receive honors)
- A district lacked 10 player nominations from coaches
- Head coaches chose not to be MBCA members making them unable to nominate their players
District Player of the Year
The player receiving the most points is named District Player of the Year. If there is a tie in points for 1st place, all players will receive Co-District Player of the Year recognition.
District Coach of the Year
Coaches within the district also vote on District Coach of the Year. The District Coach of the Year award may reflect the regular season prior to the district tournament.

The MBCA does not provide awards for All-District or All-State honors through the mail.
