Overview

The MBCA annually recognizes outstanding players with All-District Honors, an award based on a player’s entire season body of work, not just district tournament performance. Selections are made through nominations and voting by MBCA member coaches.

Eligibility Requirements

Beginning with the 2022–23 season, a school’s head coach must be a paid MBCA member for their players to be eligible for both All-District and All-State honors. If the head coach is not a paid member, their players will be removed from the ballot and the coach will not be eligible to vote.

MBCA membership is renewed annually each school year. Membership does not carry over year-to-year.

• Coaches who register for the MBCA Fall Clinic receive membership as part of their registration.
• Coaches who do not attend the clinic may purchase a membership for approximately $51.75 per year through the MBCA Membership link.

Nomination Process

Head coaches will receive a Google Form via email to nominate players for All-District consideration.

• Each coach may nominate up to five players.
• Coaches are responsible for submitting accurate player information, including:
  • Correct spelling
  • Up-to-date and accurate statistics at the time of submission
    • Once nominations are submitted, statistics cannot be edited or updated

2026 Timeline

Nomination forms will be distributed on February 1, 2026.

• Submission deadlines are:
  • February 13, 2026 for Classes 1–3
  • February 20, 2026 for Classes 4–6
    • Late submissions will not be accepted in order to ensure voting materials are distributed on time.

Coach Collaboration & Voting

All-District voting is no longer conducted on-site or in person. The MBCA distributes and collects all ballots virtually via Google Forms.

During district seed meetings, whether in-person or virtual, coaches are encouraged to discuss their nominated players to provide additional context beyond statistics. While these discussions are valuable, all voting is completed digitally using official MBCA ballots.

After nominations are finalized, the MBCA will provide each district with a nomination sheet and distribute digital ballots to member coaches for voting.
